treatment day

Well since our new page is down at the moment i will update here and hope everyone will still follow...It's frustrating i know...but there are just still some bugs to be worked out.
Any who...Today was treatment day for Blade.  It was a pretty easy one.  Just had Methotrexate and Vincristine in his port.  He had home care come yesterday for labs to be drawn.  His counts did go down but not bad...it was to be expected that they go down.  His anc was 780, Hemoglobin 8.1 and his platelets were 170 thousand...so not bad!  His mouth is completely better...thank God!  that was so painful for him!
We went to Simon's first bball practice for his league at the boys and girls club.  I'm so glad Blade has the energy to go and do things without gettin sick or too tired to walk...Its so good.  He is staying with his aunt joy along with Simon tomorrow night and then his Nana Saturday.  So so so happy he is feeling good.
And the most exciting thing...Blades favorite soldier Rich Linville...gave him his purple heart before he went back to Germany!  So very special!  He says that Blade is HIS hero...I say they are both heroes!  One for choosing to fight for our country and the other for fighting a battle he did not choose...but bravely doing so!
Much love to all and all prayers are very much appreciated!  Thank you all for your support!

The doc came in this morning and his counts are all up pretty good and his fever is and has been down which is a great thing.  She said he has the Noro virus which often times goes along with the typhlitis he has...its an intestinal virus. The treatment for that is 10 days of IV antibiotics.  We are on day 4...so looks like we will be here for a while.  But whatever it takes to get him feeling better!  He has had it pretty rough this week, but as usual he has been sooooo good about everything.  He is definitely ready for this to all be over but he keeps on keeping on.  We are gonna have visitors a lot today...Brian and all the kids are coming up with Debbie to give him his gifts from her.  Then later Jason and Nana and the gang will be up to give him some gifts and visit for a lil bit...hopefully this time he wont kick everyone out! He gets a bit overwhelmed at times and just wants quiet...could be the meds. lol  any way...that should brighten his day seeing everyone...plus Nanny is coming to spend a couple nights with us.  He is excited about that.  Santa stopped by and some teens from a youth group stopped by and gave him some books and things...yesterday a few pilots stopped by and gave him all kinds of stuff...he really liked that.  People are so generous with their time for these kids...It means so much!
I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and happy new year!  Be safe

Well the CT scan showed Blade had inflammation of his colon.  They said it was typhlitis or colonitis.  Both are treated the same...antibiotics, and no eating or drinking.  This has been the worst week thus far.  It has been so hard to see him in such pain and now not being able to eat is even worse!  He has bawled and begged for us to feed him.  He doesn't understand it is for his own good.  He doesn't understand that hes really NOT starving...he just knows what he feels!  The nurses just have to give him medicine to help him sleep it off.  I pray he can start clear liquids tomorrow.  I know it could be so much worse and I am so thankful for all the doctors and medicines to help him...but i am a mother watching her son suffer and it is very hard.  I am also thankful for all my family and friends and the prayers sent our way.  God is right here with us...holding us.  Blade will be OK.  Lord please give me the strength to keep it all together for not only Blade but Gavin and Simon as well.
