So...the evening after we got back from treatment on the 6th...Blade developed a fever. It was late in the evening and I knew we were going to clinic in the morning but I called anyway just to be safe. the doc said to give him Tylenol and call back if he gets worse. Well it spiked up to 103.2 but it was just a couple hours before we were to be there so i didn't call back...we got to the clinic and he was still running a fever and i told them what it was earlier and so they admitted him to the hospital. He had a pretty bad sinus infection and now a fever. So we waited at the clinic for a room upstairs and they gave him his blood in the clinic which gave him a little more energy but he was in alot of pain with the sinus infection. His left eye hurt him pretty bad. That side was plugged up in his sinuses worse than the right. He had to hold a cold cloth on it. I felt so bad for him. We finally got our room and they moved us upstairs. He got his platelets up there and some strong antibiotics...through his port which was waaaay better than the horse pills at home! He did play some video games with his brothers after having some Tylenol. He felt pretty good for the rest of the day. On Wednesday he felt great all day...still a little pain in his head but much improved. Then that evening the volunteers from make a wish foundation came to visit Blade and see what his wish is. They were so sweet and he was his normal goofy self! they had a ball with him. His first wish is to go to the ocean in a submarine! Too cool! and his second wish (in case they cant grant the first) is to meet Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. Of course from Pirates one of his favorite movies. I thought those wishes were unique and so did the ladies from make a wish! They gave him a gift which was a light saber. he loved it! then he played a bit and met a new friend. Her name is Jessica. She is 10. they hung out for a bit then we chilled in the room. Thursday was a pretty uneventful day...we stayed in the room most of the day. The doc said we would most likely be there till Monday...yuck! But Friday came and his labs came back a little better and he was feeling better so they said we could go home! Yay! of course Blade wanted to stay!lol silly boy...i guess that just proves what an awesome hospital and staff they are at PMCH! The weekend was great! Blade felt great and played with his brothers. Such a beautiful sight to see! yesterday he had treatment and had to have another platelet transfusion. Then last night was the Gary Brackett Holiday party! Boy was that fun!!! They did an awesome job for the kids! They all got gifts, signed footballs, an autographed pic of Gary...and the food was all kid stuff...but good! They had cookie decorating stations and thank you card making station for Gary...It was such a good time for them! and us too! Blade did get sick once. But right after he was fine...never complained just thew up ( right at the table...but mom was ready with a puke bowl) and he went on with the party. My little hero!
Today was the last day for Physical therapy...hopefully. He has gotten so much stronger they think he is OK to not go back. Yay!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! Cherish every moment!
