This is still all so surreal to me...i just cant really grasp the idea that my son has this terrible disease. And the things that it is doing to his body is so sad. If anyone knows Blade, he is a very energetic, rowdy, loud, joyful little boy. This disease has not takin those things from him but just put them on hold for a little bit...except the joyful part...he is still full of joy he just shows it differently now. Sometimes i get so angry. Wishing it could be me. But i know through this valley Blade is going to be able to conquer many mountains. He is going to have an awesome testimony of Gods love and healing. He has never once said "why me, or why do i have this" he just takes it all in stride and stays strong. Yes he says " I wish I wasn't sick and asks questions like "why do i have to wear a mask" But he knows the outcome...he knows God is right here with us holding my hand and holding him IN his hands.
He had his first treatment since being out of the hospital, yesterday. It went very well. He had a bone marrow test also which they put him to sleep for. and let me tell you he is grouchy when he comes out of the anesthesia! But who wouldn't be after all he's been through in the past few weeks. He couldn't eat after midnight and boy did that make him upset. Put a kid on steroids(part of the chemo treatment) and then tell him he can't eat...just mean...lol but as soon as it was over he ate, and ate, and ate. So far as of this morning he hasn't gotten sick...I am praying he wont! And I'm prayin this marrow test will show the leukemia cells to be zero! that would be awesome! And I just have to say that I LOVE Peyton Manning Children's Hospital!!! They are all so genuinely sweet and truly care about the kids!
I am so thankful he still has his sense of humor.. although its not a whole lot that he laughs...he does and he says some funny stuff! he was "arguing" with Brian the other day about which one of them was gonna go get somethin...Brian said you do it Blade said I cant i have hypokemia! lol he forgot the name of it! He cracked up! And hes really proud of the scar he has where they put his port in...he said "ooo Simon and Gavin are gonna be impressed" such a boy.
I love you baby boy....you are my knight in shining armor!

He is awesome Leslie, such a trooper! So glad the treatment went well. I will also be praying ZERO Leukemia cells! Hang in there, you are doing great and showing your strength. You will all be a testament to the strength we get from God that shows through!
