Blade had his treatment Monday which was Chemo givin through spinal tap, and has been having really bad pains with this one. He finished this course of steroids so the doc thinks the pain may be caused from not being on the steroids anymore. Wow those things have lots of side effects! He has had to take his pain meds every 6 hours to control the pain. But still he is a trooper and doesn't complain. So as his dad said in the previous post...he is in remission and is on schedule to start the next phase which is called the consolidation phase. It lasts 8 weeks and sounds pretty crazy. The first day we will be at the hospital pretty much all day they told us. Every other week he has 4 days in a row of treatment. He takes stuff by mouth and gets shots and more spinal injections...Its a tough road to go down but Blade is tougher. Our God is bigger than this and is right here holding Blade in his hands.
Blade had physical therapy on Thursday. It went pretty well. Until the point where he fell because his legs are so weak. Its hard for him to hold himself up on one leg and they had him doing an exercise that required him to do that and he lost his balance and fell. It hurt him physically and emotionally. But he rested a minute got over it and got right back up and started again! I don't know who it hurt more emotionally me or him! I just wanted to say OK stop that's enough we are leaving but i knew that would not be the best for Blade. He is such a special little boy...
So today he is feeling a little like getting out so we are going to eat some Chinese with Aunt Joy. He LOOOOVES Chinese food! We will update later and let everyone know how Monday goes...until then. LIVE,LAUGH, LOVE :)
